Research

Our current research endeavours span a wide range of areas in the fields of fundamental and applied thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics. We conduct experimental, numerical and theoretical research for academic and commercial purposes.

Education and Training

We provide a variety of education and training services in thermofluids related knowledge areas, with a focus on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering. Additional training via short courses, workshops and internships is available on request.

Consulting

Our team of qualified engineers includes nine Engineering Council of South Africa Professional Engineers and over a century of industry experience. Our consulting services include, for example, component performance characterisation / verification, design, simulation and analysis, and provide industry with unique access to our extensive laboratory and computational resources and expertise.
